Space or the Sea
All of these objects I found along Lake Champlain in Vermont. Due to a tectonic plate shift many many years ago, there are countless treasures along the shore. I can't help but wonder the history of some of these objects, and I believe this may be my way of coping with the fact that I may never know.
The first few objects are depictions of the inside of an oyster shell. I instantly make a connection to NASA's photographs or nebulas. My rock pieces remind me of meteors or astroids one would see in deep space. I think the exploration of our oceans depths and our never ending universe are not only vital, but similar. From "alien" creatures to the rocks that tell a story of time we cannot even perceive.
